The farther West you go, the worse the condition gets right now because MoDot was supposed to be repaving a big section this year, and now that’s not happening until next year. I love living near Manchester! I’ve left it and returned to it a couple times. It can be a pain in the afternoon at certain times of year because people will slam on their brakes when the sun gets in their eyes. It’s just not a great interchange all around, but pre-COVID it still really wasn’t that bad by city traffic standards. That Hanley entrance is super prone to accidents. The issues with 40/64 are mainly around the interchange with 170, and subsequently where traffic from Hanley enters 40/64 Eastbound. Kirkwood, Webster, Shrewsberry, Sunset Hills, Valley Park, and Fenton are all decent places along the 44 corridor. At 730-8AM it could be in the 35 minute range, with most of that just being the side streets I have to take, generally Grand Ave Northbound. 20 mile commute takes me about 24-27 minutes from 6-630AM window. Time of day also has a ton to do with it. 55 is basically the thunderdome in the afternoons and the sunshine slowdowns are insane in the morning around Broadway. If I had to give a recommendation, planning your commute around 44 and then navigating north/south on the main streets will be your best bet, rather than fucking around with 55. I work north of SLU and lived in SoCo by 67/Tesson area and now I live near 44/141.
